Musical theater powerhouse Andréa Burns (In the Heights) plays Hollywood comedy star Judy Holliday in a new bio-play, Smart Blonde, set a year before the actress’s untimely death. While sitting in a Manhattan recording studio, Holliday recalls highlights from her life and career. Installation Art

Artists Alejandro Piñeiro Bello, Jose Capaz, and Fabelohung (Roberto Fabelo Hung) have based their newest site-specific exhibition,“En El Monte,” on the propaganda battle between the U.S. and Cuba in the 1990s. Spending nearly a decade as a touring band properly prepared the Brooklyn–to–Mexico City Afrobeat collective Antibalas to shoulder the challenges of Broadway, where many members of the group were part of the house band for the acclaimed musical Fela!. This two-night Brooklyn Bowl event celebrates Antibalas’s 20th anniversary—a rich history of five studio albums, collaborations with Grammy Award winners, and changing the game of funky Afrobeat music.
