The festival organizers have done away with the big street fair, but there is no shortage of family fun at this year’s edition. On two consecutive Saturdays, the Tribeca Performing Arts Center will be a hot spot for movie-loving kids and their parents, thanks to Tribeca/ESPN Family Film Field Day and the 25th anniversary of Aladdin.
Enjoy a doubleheader of classic sports screenings at the 2017 Tribeca/ESPN Family Film Field Day on April 22. Watch the heartwarming Disney live-action film Angels in the Outfield and hysterical cult classic Space Jam, then head outside to Washington Market Park and the upper and lower plazas of the Borough of Manhattan Community College to get your game on with fun, kid-friendly sports clinics.
Your heart and voice will soar during the special 25th anniversary screening of Disney’s Aladdin on April 29. You’ve probably seen the animated masterpiece at home dozens of times, but it is truly magical when you experience it on the big screen. Let your theater seat act as your impromptu magic carpet as you’re transported to the fictional Arabian city of Agrabah by way of beloved characters and Academy Award–winning showstoppers. Before the movie, join Brad Kane (aka Aladdin’s original singing voice) for a preshow sing-along. We hear it’s going to be a soundtrack favorite and have a pretty strong feeling it will be “A Whole New World,” but that’s just a guess.
Find out what else you can do in Tribeca to make either of these screenings a fun-filled family day with our expertly planned itinerary. Or contact our experience planners if you would like us to order tickets for you.
